Borussia Dortmund are set to make their first transfer of the summer according to reports from Germany. Top tabloid BILD reports that the German giants are willing to trigger the release clause of TSG Hoffenheim defender Nico Schulz.

Schulz has a release clause of £25 million and Dortmund have moved quickly to swoop for the defender who has been linked to several clubs. The marauding fullback is known for his attacking attributes down the flanks regularly contributing to Hoffenheim attacks.
His transfer would be a tidy profit for Hoffenheim who signed him for a relative bargain of £3 million two seasons ago. One major factor driving the move is the presence of Lucien Favre at the helms at Dortmund. Favre signed Schulz in 2015 when he was the head coach of Borussia Monchengladbach and he is a huge fan of the German international.
The arrival of Schulz would enable Favre to go three at the back which he favoured during his time at French side Nice. This transfer is a good one for the club as it would help the club compete against Bayern Munich ahead of the next season. it is believed that the transfer would be announced next week after the last round of games has been played in the League.
Schulz is the real deal and would be able to thrive at Dortmund as he would have the chance to play with better players than his current club Hoffenheim. At £25 million this would represent the highest signing made by Dortmund in their history.
