German Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund BVB are under pressure ahead of the return leg in the Europa League. The German side lost 2-1 at home to Salzburg in a game that was supposed to be under wraps. The first leg of the Last 16 clash ended shockingly for the hosts as Valon Berisha handed the advantage to the Austrian side ahead of the reverse fixture next week.
BVB tried to get an equalizer but it only ended in Salzburg grabbing a double. Stefan Lainer had a good run before cutting the ball back for Berisha to grab a brace. Christian Pulisic was the response from the home team. The American youngster made instant impact, manoeuvring past the defenders before passing for Andre Schurrle to score from close range. That goal was an importan lifeline for BVB else they would have needed three goals away to get to the next stage or two to force the game to extra time.
BVB have struggled with management issues of recent. They would be relieved with the news that star player Marco Reus is planning on extending his deal with the club. He has been playing since 2012 but his career has been blighted by various injuries. He has committed himself to the club despite the interests and links to other top European sides.
