For the past 6 seasons of the Bundesliga, it has been Bayern Munich the club that has consistently managed to come out on top as the champions. This has caused criticism towards that league as they are clearly the club that has a substantially higher amount of wealth, at least compared to the rest of the teams in that same league.
This wealth allows Bayern Munich to cherry pick the players that they want and need in every season and this not only applies to the players as it also extends to the coaches that are appointed.
Bayern Munich also has an impressive youth academy system which has provided them with top class players such as: Franz Beckenbauer, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller, just to name a few of the players that have at some period of their respective career, got into the youth team of the German titans.
It’s because of all these factors that Bayern Munich has managed to stay as one of the top clubs in Europe.
Nonetheless, in this current Bundesliga season of 2018-19, it appears that Borussia Dortmund has the chance of dethroning Bayern Munich.
In the 9 opening matches of the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund has managed to claim 6 triumphs and 3 draws which has allowed them to collect 21 points while Bayern Munich are closely behind with 19.
With the likes of: PacoAlcacer, Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho, Christian Pullisic and Jacob Bruun Larsen as the main attackers of Borussia Dortmund, the German club has managed to score 29 goals in the 9 opening league matches with only 10 goals being conceded while their rivals, Bayern Munich have only scored 17 and conceived the same amount of goals.
It’s clear that at least from the initial 9 Bundesliga matches, Borussia Dortmund has been performing superior to their rivals Bayern Munich and supporters of the team which is being guided by the 60 year old manager Lucien Favre are hoping that this string of impressive performances and results can continue throughout the remainder of the season.
